(Sunny Isles, FL) - An employee at Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles is accused of stealing a wad of cash from a guest’s hotel room while he attended the Argentina, Cape Verde FIFA match, police say.
33-year-old Monica Latesha Peterson is charged with grand theft for allegedly stealing $6500 in $100 bills from a fanny pack left on the dresser.
The guest discovered the cash was missing the next morning when he checked the bag and reported the theft to police.
Detectives say that Peterson was not assigned to clean or service the room when she used her employee keycard to enter Friday at 6 o'clock while the guest was at the soccer match at Miami Stadium.
Unknown if the stolen cash was recovered.
