Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warns Hurricane Milton is going to be challenging, and is urging those in the storm's path to anticipate losing power. But there are 50-thousand power crews from all over the U.S., as far as California, are pre-positioned in Florida to get restoration efforts underway as soon as Milton passes.
He stresses, there are currently one-point-six million gallons of diesel and one-point-one million gallons of fuel on hand, so there is no gas shortage, but there could be some gas delivery interruptions at some ports, including Manatee and Tampa, depending on damage caused by the hurricane.
With six-thousand Florida Guard soldiers, an additional three-thousand from other states, 34 search and rescue aircraft and 500 tactical vehicles, DeSantis calls this is the largest storm mobilization in the state's history.
