USF Wins Hawaii Bowl In Five OT Thriller

The USF Bulls (7-6) defeated San Jose State University (7-6) 41-39 on Tuesday night in five overtimes to win the Hawaii Bowl.

The Bulls led 21-10 at halftime thanks to rushing touchdowns from Nay'Quan Wright and Kelley Joiner, as well as a 93-yard kickoff return touchdown from Ta'Ron Keith. San Jose State rallied to take a 27-24 lead in the fourth quarter, but Bulls kicker John Cannon kicked a 41-yard field goal to tie the game and force overtime.

The game ended in the fifth overtime when quarterback Bryce Archie whit Keshaun Singleton for a two-point conversion to end the game 41-39. Kicker John Cannon was named the Hawaii Bowl MVP after going 3-for-3 on field goals with shots from 33, 41 and 36 yards, with the shot from 41 forcing the game into overtime.

The Bulls will now look ahead to the 2025 season, the third year under head football coach Alex Golesh.
